Award winning filmmaker and visual artist Michael W. Barnard, extends his unique and evocative vision through his new photographic works called “PhotoFields”.These complex and challenging works allow the viewer to peek through the discerning viewfinder of the artist’s eye and experience the alchemical transformations that are incited by the subtle fusion of disparate images in clean, intersecting fields of photographic montage. In a sort of time travel, Barnard collects images from locations around the world, catalogs them, and blends memories from within memories. New resonance and harmonies interact between lives that originated and live thousands of miles apart. Now, unbounded by time and space they coexist and intersect in these new “PhotoFields”. Share this celebratory journey of his newest works, as the artist, Michael Barnard, guides you through the provocative magical viewfinder of the “PhotoFields”. Michael Barnard began making his cinematographic, photographic and object imagery as a teenager. He was active in the San Francisco Bay Area 60’s experimental film-making and art/music movements. His entire academic film-making education consisted of single class supervised by legendary Bay Area avante-garde film-maker/artist Bruce Conner. Barnard somehow graduated from California College of Arts and Crafts in Oakland and Ft. Wright College of the Holy Names in Spokane. Barnard’s work has been seen around the world, he has had numerous one-person shows and has works in many private collections across the U.S. |
